Stephens County remains at 123 cases of COVID-19 for two days

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting 123 cases of COVID-19 in Toccoa-Stephens County.

To date, Stephens County has had two deaths due to complications from COVID-19.

Habersham County continues to be the county hit the hardest in our area with 502 positive cases of the virus and 19 fatalities due to complications from the virus.

Locally, at Stephens County Hospital, staff have tested 873 individuals for the virus.

Of those, 95 tests have come back positive, 742 received negative results, and 36 individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to hospital staff, of those 95 who have tested positive at Stephens County Hospital and its facilities, 81 have now fully recovered from COVID-19.

Additionally, there are two patients hospitalized at Stephens County Hospital with confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In other neighboring counties, Banks County has a total of 73 cases, Rabun County has 15 cases and one death, Franklin County has 39 cases and one death, and Hart County has 26 cases.

Across the state of Georgia, the Department of Public Health is reporting a total of 43,400 cases, of those, 7,507 have been hospitalized and 1,848 have died from complications of the virus.
