Stephens County Lady Indians Softball walk-off against Lumpkin County

The Stephens County Indians took Tuesday’s (September 1) game in dramatic fashion, with a 3-2 walk-off victory over Lumpkin County. The game was tied at two in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. The Lady Indians’ pitcher struck out three, while Lumpkin County sat down six.

The Stephens County Indians got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Carley Funderburke doubled to left field, and Karlie Brady grounded out, each scoring one run.

Madyson Wilson earned the win for the Stephens County Indians. The pitcher surrendered five hits and two runs (one earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking none. 

Carley Funderburke and Karlie Brady each drove in one run for Stephens County. Emma Mata led the Lady Indians with two hits in three at bats.

The Stephens County Indians will travel to Morgan County for their next game on Thursday, September 3.
