Stephens County Headed Back to AAA

The Georgia High School Association has released the latest school enrollment numbers to place member schools into tentative classifications for the school years 2020-2022.

According to the numbers released, Stephens County will move from the current AAAA classification to the AAA classification.

Franklin County, Hart County, Habersham Central, Rabun County, and Banks County will remain at their current classification.

The tentative classes will not become official until the GHSA has heard appeals on enrollment counts and considered requests to play up in class. Schools have until this Monday, November 11 to appeal, and the GHSA reclassification committee will meet Tuesday, November 12th to consider any appeals and begin the process of placing schools into regions.

Reclassification will be ratified by the GHSA executive committee in January, 2020.
