Stephens County Election Supervisor Warns of Fraudulent Texts to Voters
Stephens County Election Supervisor Bruce Carlisle contacted WNEG News yesterday to talk about recent reports to his office regarding fraudulent text messages being sent to registered voters regarding their registration status.
Carlisle stressed that neither the local or state election office will ever send text messages to citizens.
Carlisle talked briefly about the public nature of voter records in the state of Georgia.
In other election news, Carlisle discussed the schedule for early voting for the November General Election, and talked about absentee ballots.
He talked about upcoming voter deadlines
Carlisle also said that his office and the local Post Office have been communicating and working together to make sure that election-related mail sent out by the election office is securely and promptly processed locally, and not routed through the normal postal service route where mail is sent to Atlanta to be processed before being delivered in Toccoa.
