Stephens Co. travels to Hart Co. Tonight for Varsity Football Game

The Stephens County Indians will travel down to Hartwell tonight to face the Hart County Bulldogs in high school varsity football. Kickoff is at 7:30. 

The Indians have an overall record of 3-5 and are 1-2 in Region 8-AA.  Hart County has the same overall record of 3-5, but they are 2-1 in region play.  Stephens County is coming off a loss at Hebron Christian last Friday, 51-24. Hart County won last Friday against East Jackson, 21-6. 

Last year, the Indians won in Toccoa over the Bulldogs, 37-34.     

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s Defensive Line Coach Brad Whitfield said the team has prepared well, and they should be ready to play in this big rivalry game.    

Coverage on 93.1FM and AM630 WNEG starts at 6:30 tonight with the Indian Road Show, followed by Coach’s Corner at 7, and pre-game live from the stadium at 7:15.

In the other Region 8-AA games tonight, Franklin County travels to Hebron Christian, and East Jackson hosts Prince Avenue Christian.  

Looking elsewhere around the area, Habersham Central goes to Apalachee, Madison County hosts Walnut Grove, White County plays at Chestatee, Rabun County hosts Athens Academy, and Banks County hosts Commerce.  Elbert County has the night off. 

In Stephens County JV football action last night, Stephens County lost at home to Hart County, 34-21. That completes the JV schedule as the team ends with a 4-3 record.
