Hudson Spurlock, the leading rusher this past season for the Stephen County Indians football team, will attend and play for the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colorado, next year.

In a signing ceremony last Friday, Spurlock says he always wanted to play football at one of the service academies. “ I’ve always wanted to play college football, football at the next level and get that type of education. When it came closer to time I started looking into the service academies. Air Force reached out to me first and they gave me the opportunity. I can play football, but I also get to serve selflessly and serve my country afterwards, and that is also something that I’m very interested in doing. I think it will be challenging, but it will be completely worth it.”

The Air Force Falcons had a great season in 2019 going 10-2. Hudson, the son of Indian football offensive coordinator, Sonny Spurlock and his wife, Mollie, will carry with him a 3.9 GPA.

Spurlock was first-team All Region, and received the 2019 Ultimate Warrior Award. He led the Indians with 1250 yards rushing, and 13 touchdowns, 11 of those on the ground. Spurlock says he plans to major in behavioral science.
