Sixth Movie Now Being Shot in Toccoa-Stephens County

Toccoa-Stephens County is playing host to yet another film crew.

Chamber Executive Director Julie Paysen said there isn’t too much she can reveal about the movie, but she did confirm the film is set during the Civil War era.

This is the sixth film shot in Toccoa-Stephens County over the past two years and Paysen says it is a boon to the local economy.

“Production and film companies easily spend upwards of $100,000 when they come here to shoot a movie, both in sales tax and other purchases such as hotel accomodations, food, equipment and anything else they might need while on location in Stephens County,” she explained.

Paysen said the Toccoa-Stephens County area is steadily gaining popularity with major production companies and she expects there will be more films shot here.

Film crews began shooting at various locations in the county on October 3rd and they will continue shooting through the 19th.

The name of the film and a when it will be released has not yet been disclosed.
