Seasons End for Rebels 7th Grade Teams

The basketball season came to an end for two Stephens County Middle School teams on Monday night in Hartwell.

Both SCMS 7th grade teams fell in the 1st round of the NEGIAA tournament.

The Lady Rebels 7th grade team fell in a close game with Madison County 27-24. Dariyah Bell led the Lady Rebels with 9 points, Carson Stowe had 7, and 2 each from Rakiyah Young, Fayeth Ivester, Maddie McGee, and Trayinyasia Walker. The 7th grade Lady Rebels, coached by Delicia Folsum, finished the season with a record of 5-10.

The 7th grade Rebels boys also fell in the 1st round as Habersham County advanced with a 60-44 victory.

Javin Gordon led Stephens County with 12 points, Brock Tankersly had 9, Nuri Winters 7, Devin Cobb 4, and 2 each from Jasec Smith, Daeshawn Wilson, Ethan Smith, Colby Fowler, Evan Lerma, and Cooper Dean.

Habersham County’s Brandon Gaines led all scorers with 30 points.

The Rebels 7th grade boys, under coach Ron Dunn, finished the season at 6-9.
