SCSS continues Grab-N-Go lunch program

The Stephens County School System Nutrition Department will continue providing daily meals at no cost for children age 18 and under through the month of June.

According to School Nutrition Director Kim Caudell, they will operate the drive-by meal pick-up at Stephens County Middle School, where children will receive a grab-and-go lunch with a breakfast included for the following morning.

She ask that you do not get out of your vehicle or congregate, and each family should maintain 6 feet or more distance between themselves.

The Grab-N-Go lunch will be served Monday through Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Caudell says meal service will operate through June 30, with July information becoming available at a later date.

She adds that on May 25, there will be no meals served in observance of Memorial Day.

Stephens County Middle School is located at 1315 Rose Lane in Toccoa.

Caudell advises motorists to enter Stephens County Middle School from the rear entrance “Bus Loop Road” beside Big A Elementary. There will be trained school nutrition personnel along with local deputies on site to hand out meals.

Additionally, Caudell says meals will continue to be delivered daily at the mobile bus sites, including: The Pines Apartments from 10:15 until 10:30 a.m.; Falls Park Apartments from 10:30 until 10:45 a.m.; Highland Avenue/Doyle Street from 10:30 until 10:55 a.m.; Ridgecrest/Green Street from 10:50 until 11:05; Save A Lot Parking Lot from 11:00 until 11:15 a.m.; Ruby Street/Morgan Place from 11:10 until 11:25 a.m.; and Sweet Gum Road/Pinetree Road from 11:30 until 12 noon.

During the serving period meals will be served until they run out.
