SCSO arrest Toccoa man after search yields drugs

A Toccoa man has been arrested in Stephens County on charges for possession of drugs.

According to Stephens County Sheriff Randy Shirley, 61-year-old Roger Gary Jackson was arrested after a search yielded prepackaged methamphetamine.

Shirley says Sheriff’s Investigators received multiple tips regarding drug activity at a residence on Georgia Highway 123.

Investigators were familiar with the subject living at the residence due to previous narcotic investigations.

Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division Commander Sgt. Josh Goodbar says his investigators went to the home to speak with Jackson.

During initial contact with Jackson, a subsequent search of the property was completed due to his bond conditions.

Goodbar says deputies seized approximately one ounce of methamphetamine along with packaging material consistent with the sale of narcotics.

Roger Gary Jackson was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

Jackson is being held in the Stephens County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
