SCMS Split at Madison County

Stephens County Middle School basketball teams won two and lost two Thursday night at Madison County.

The Stephens County Middle School 8th grade girls picked up a win at Madison County 32-27. The 8th grade Lady Rebels were led by Makiya Knox with 14 points, Kiara Lopex added 12, Constance Brown 4, and Cierra Howard 2. The SCMS 8th grade girls record is now 1-2.

The Rebels 8th grade boys defeated Madison County 54-40. Corey Richey led the Rebels with 21 points, Evan Dumaine scored 11 points, Cameryn Lacy had 6, A.J. Russell 5, Ben Stowe 4, Jackie Robinson 3, and Cornelius Curry 2. The SCMS 8th grade boys record is now 2-1.

The Rebels 7th Grade Girls lost a tough game to Madison County in overtime 25-20. Carson Stowe led the 7th grade girls with 7 points,  Jaziyah Harbin had 5 points, Aurora Elrod and Dariyah Bell had 4 points each.

The SCMS 7th grade girls fall to 0-3 on the season.

The 7th Grade Stephens County Middle School Rebels boys suffered a tough loss at Madison County Thursday evening by the score of 47-43.

Javin Gordon led Stephens County with a game high 25 points, Nuri Winters added 9, Devin Cobb 4, Daeshawn Wilson 3 and Evan Lerma 2.

Casen Duggins led Madison County with 11 points.

The SCMS 7th grade boys are now 1-2 on the season.

All four teams will return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Rabun County.
