SCMS Rebels Vanquish Habersham Middle In High-Scoring Affair

Both SCMS Rebels and Habersham Middle had their offenses going on Wednesday, but SCMS Rebels eventually prevailed 27-11. SCMS Rebels collected 14 hits, while Habersham Middle had nine.

Alana Thurmond collected four hits in four at bats in the win. Alana Thurmond tripled in the third inning, singled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth inning.

A triple by Alana Thurmond, and a single by Emma Powell helped SCMS Rebels extend their early lead in the third.

SCMS Rebels scored seven runs on four hits in the top of the fourth inning. Lilli Mata singled, scoring one run, an error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Karlie Brady singled, scoring one run, Kaydence Cheek singled, scoring one run, and Paiton Allen grounded out, scoring one run.

Kenzie Thomas earned the win for SCMS Rebels. The starting pitcher allowed seven hits and nine runs (five earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. Kacey W threw one inning of zero-run ball for SCMS Rebels in relief. The pitcher surrendered zero hits, striking out three and walking none.

SCMS Rebels amassed 14 hits in the game. Karlie Brady led SCMS Rebels with five runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Mailey Addison and Kaydence Cheek each collected multiple hits for SCMS Rebels. SCMS Rebels had patience at the plate, accumulating five walks for the game.
