SCMS Rebels take home win at NEGIAA Football Conference Championship

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels won the NEGIAA football conference championship Thursday night.

The Rebels left no doubt as they avenged a loss earlier in the season to Rabun County with a convincing 30 to 7 win up in Tiger.

Stephens County scored first with a touchdown run by Javin Gordon.

The 2-point conversion failed.

After a Rabun County fumble, Gordon tossed a touchdown pass to Aaron Scott.

The two-point conversion pass to Everett Rudeseal made the score 14 to 0 at the end of the first quarter.

Rabun County got on the board with a 60-yard punt return in the second quarter.

But the Rebels answered a few minutes later with a 95-yard punt return by Aaron Scott.

After the two-point conversion, Stephens County led 22 to 7 at halftime.

After no scoring in the third quarter, the Rebels put the final points on the board with a Gordon run and another 2-point conversion pass reception by Rudeseal.

Stephens County completes their season with a 7 & 1 record.
