SCMS Rebels Take 3 of 4 at Rabun

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels basketball teams traveled to Rabun County on Tuesday night and took 3 out of 4.

The 7th grade girls picked up their first win of the season with a 23-17 victory.  Dariah Bell led SCMS with 7 points, Jaziyah Harbin had 6 points,  Fayeth Ivester and Carson Stowe both contributed 3 points each, and Aurora Elrod and Abby Chapman both scored 2 points.  The SCMS 7th grade girls are now 1-3.

The Stephens County Middle School 7th grade boys improved to 2-2 on the season with a 44-37 win over Rabun County..

Javin Gordon led SCMS with 14 points and Daeshawn Wilson was also in double figures with 11. The 7th grade boys also got 6 pts from Nuri Winters, Tripp Underwood 5, Devin Cobb 4, and   Aidan Butts and Glavin Frady had 2 each.

Rabun County’s Cooper Welch had a game high 15 points.

The SCMS 8th grade boys basketball team defeated Rabun County 53-47. Three SCMS 8th graders were in double figures: Evan Dumaine with 18 points, Cameron Lacey with 12, and Corey Richie with 10. SCMS also got 5 points from AJ Russell, 4 from Ben Stowe, and Ritt Tankersley and Cornelius Curry had 2 each.

The SCMS 8th grade boys record is now 3-1.

The Rebels 8th grade girls fell to Rabun County 46-32. Kiara Lopez led the Lady Rebels with 17 points, Makiya Knox had 8, and Constance Brown added 7. The SCMS 8th grade girls fall to 1-3 this season.

All four teams return to action this Saturday at Stephens County Middle School when they host Banks County at Stephens County Middle School. Games begin at 10 A.M.
