SCMS Rebels headed to NEGIAA Football Championship today

Stephens County Middle School will play for the NEGIAA Football Championship tonight as the Rebels will host Habersham.

The game was originally scheduled for last Thursday, but due to inclement weather, the game was moved to tonight.

This is the third consecutive year Stephens County has made it to the title game—they won it last year at Rabun County.

The Rebels went 5 & 1 during the regular season and gained a spot in the title game with a 12 to 7 win over Rabun County.

Habersham made it to the championship with a close 7 to 6 win over Elbert County.

The Rebels won the regular season game with Habersham, 28-13.

Last Thursday night on the Crunch Time radio program, Stephens County Middle School football coach, Matt Miller, says even though the Rebels have played and won over Habersham during the regular season, tonight is a new game.

Game time is scheduled for 5:30 tonight at The Reservation.
