SCMS Rebels Football Wrapup

The Stephens County Middle School (SCMS) Rebels football team began their season with a win last Thursday by defeating Franklin County at The Reservation, 46 to 22.  The Rebels led 22 to 6 at halftime.  Head Coach Matt Miller said he was pleased with the team’s effort and intensity during the season opener, and highlighted some players:

The player of the game was Cashus Roebuck—he had 14 carries for 242 yards and 4 touchdowns and also 2 receptions for 45 yards and 1 touchdown.  Rebel Quarterback, Bentley Crunkleton, was 5 of 8 passing for 52 yards with a touchdown pass.  Braz Adams had two 2-point conversion pass receptions and  Ayden Chunn also had a 2-point pass reception.  The Lineman of the Game was Rebels Center Bryan Miller.  The Defensive Player of the Game was Aiden Cobb who had 2 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 1 fumble recovery, as well as 1 rushing touchdown on offense.   Bentley Dean had a blocked kick, Jerymus Roberson had an interception, and Noah Ward was the top tackler.  Henry Moore was the Special Teams Player of the Game.

The next game for the Middle School Rebels will be this Thursday as they host Habersham at The Reservation.  Kickoff will be at 5:30.  Arrive early as 8th graders participating in football, cheerleading, and band and auxiliary will be honored in pre-game.
