SCMS Basketball Plays Franklin, Elbert

The Stephens County Middle School basketball teams return to action tonight after a busy weekend.

The 7th and 8th grade boys’ and girls’ teams were in action Friday against Franklin County and Saturday against Elbert County.

In 7th grade girls’ action, Stephens County lost to Franklin County, 31-18. Brooklyn Deshazer had 7 points and Trinity Howard had 4.

The 7th grade Lady Rebels then beat Elbert County on Saturday, 33-29. Brooklyn Deshazer had 13 points and Anna Ashe added 9 points.

Moving to 7th grade boys’ action, the Rebels lost to Franklin, 38-24. Daniel Mayfield had 6 points Friday and Isaiah Martin had 5.

On Saturday, the 7th grade boys lost to Elbert, 38-32. Nick Martin led the Rebels with 12 points on Saturday and Isaiah Martin had 8 points.

Moving to 8th grade action, the Lady Rebels lost Friday to Franklin County, 27-17. Treasure Lone had 15 points.

Then on Saturday, the 8th grade Stephens County girls lost to Elbert County, 25-22. Treasure Lone had 10 points on Saturday and Ashton Ayers added 7 points.

Finally in 8th grade boys’ action, the Rebels defeated Franklin County Friday, 43-35. Ty Nails had 19 points and Dawson Sorrells had 8 points.

Then on Saturday, the 8th grade boys lost to Elbert in overtime, 43-33. Dawson Sorrells had 9 points and Cayden Maxwell had 8 points.
