SCMS 8th Grade Lady Rebels Claim Region Title
The Stephens County Middle School 8th Grade Lady Rebels captured the NEGIAA region championship with an impressive 46-38 win over the Franklin County Lady Cubs in a hard-fought, intense battle. From the opening tip, the game was competitive, but the Lady Rebels showed tremendous determination, teamwork, and composure to rise to the occasion and claim the title.
Kiya Morgan led the Rebels with a dominant 24-point performance, Jadaya Montgomery followed with 9 points, while Ella Fletcher added 7 points.
The 8th grade Lady Rebels, under head coach Amanda Powell and her staff, finished the season with an overall record of 13-1.
Both Stephens County Middle School boys’ teams finished as region runner-up.
The Rebels 7th grade boys fell in the final to Elbert County 54-23. Jaceon Farrow was the only Rebel in double figures with 12 points.
The 7th grade boys finished the season with an overall record of 11-5.
The Rebels 8th grade boys lost a tight one to Franklin County 51-47.
Cashus Roebuck led the Rebels scoring with 16 points and Tray Martin added 15 points.
The Rebels 8th grade boys complete the season with an overall record of 13-3.
SCMS Head Coach Phoenix Roberts and his staff did a wonderful job with the Rebels boys’ teams this season.
