SCMS 7th Grade Boys Basketball Team Takes Title

The Stephens County Middle School 7th Grade boys basketball team completed an outstanding season on Saturday by winning the NEGIAA Conference final 51-48 over Elbert County Middle School in Madison County.

The Rebels jumped out to a 9 point point lead after the 1st quarter and made 18 of 25 free throws, including 8 of 11 in the 4th quarter, to hold on for the tight 3 point win.

Javin Gordon led the Rebels with a game high 21 points, Semaj Walker added 15, Andrew Keown 6, Brock Tankersley 4, Jet Black 3, and Tripp Underwood 2.

The NEGIAA Regular Season and Tournament Champion Rebels, coached by Ron Dunn, finished the season with a record of 13-1.

 

The SCMS 8th grade boys fell 44-32 to Madison County in the Tournament semi-final on Friday. The Rebels 8th grade boys finish the season with a record of 9-5.
