SCHS’s Brianna Williams signs Scholarship with Brenau University for Competitive Cheerleading
Surrounded by coaches, teammates, friends, and family in the Stephens County High School (SCHS) Media Center, senior Brianna Williams signed a scholarship with the Brenau University Golden Tigers competitive cheerleading team on Thursday, January 29.
Cathy Thornton, Program Coordinator for the Cheerleading Program at SCHS, said she is very proud to see Williams earn a scholarship.
Williams’ teams won the region the last four years at SCHS. She said earning a scholarship to cheer in college was a childhood dream.
The Brenau competitive cheerleading team won its second consecutive national championship at the National Cheerleading Association College All-Girl Championship in NAIA this past season.
Brenau University is in Gainesville. There, Joshua Williams’ daughter, Brianna, plans to study biology with the intention of becoming a veterinarian.
