SCHS Varsity Baseball loses to Hart County in Extra Innings

The Hart County Bulldogs scored a tie-breaking run in the top of the eighth inning and held on for a 7-6 win over the Stephens County Indians Monday night at The Reservation.
Stephens County came from behind with four runs in the bottom of the 7th inning to send the game into extra innings. The Indians scored the first two runs in the third inning, but Hart County came back to tie the game with two runs in the fourth inning. The Bulldogs scored three runs in the sixth inning and another in the seventh for a 6-2 lead. Four runs on four hits for Stephens County in the bottom of the seventh inning sent the game into an extra frame.
Hart County’s Kaiden Allen, their third pitcher of the night, allowed a double from Carmelo Renfro and an infield hit from Will Faulk to lead off the 8th. But Allen struck out the side, leaving the runners on base.
Eli Evans won the game for Hart County in relief, with Aiden Kennedy getting the save. Noah Strickland took the loss for the Indians. Landry Williams started for Stephens County and went the first four innings, with Noah Holbrooks pitching three innings of relief.
The loss for the Indians ran their record to 10-9 and 3-4 in region play. Hart County is now 4-15 and 2-5 in Region 8-AA. The two teams play again on Wednesday, April 1, in Hartwell with game time at 5:55 p.m., and air time at 5:45 p.m. on WNEG.
