SCHS Varsity Baseball beats Hart County 12-2

The Stephens County High School (SCHS) Indians defeated the Hart County Bulldogs 12-2 in six innings Friday night at The Reservation to take the three-game series 2-1.

The Indians’ starter, Landry Williams, allowed no runs until he was relieved in the fifth inning. Noah Strickland finished the game in relief, picking up the save.

Stephens County jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a 2-RBI single by Lane Presley. A run in the third and three runs in the fourth inning gave the Indians a 7-0 lead. Two runs in the fifth and two more in the sixth sealed the victory for the Indians.

Stephens County’s record is now 12-9 and 5-4 in the region. Hart County dropped to 4-17 and 2-7 in Region 8-AA.

The Indians begin a three-game series with the Franklin County Lions on Monday at The Reservation. First pitch is at 5:55 p.m. with air time at 5:45 p.m. on WNEG.
