SCHS Tennis teams split matches at Madison Co.

The Stephens County High School tennis teams split matches Tuesday at home against region rival Madison County.

The Indians won by a match score of 4-1.  Winning matches for the Tribe were Ben Smith and Carson Keener at singles. Troy Broska & Andrew Burtt along with Levi Dodd & Jacob Struble won their doubles contests.

The win gives the Indian boys a 1-2 region mark and 7-3 overall record.

The Lady Indians tennis team lost 2-3 to Madison County. Winning singles matches were Madison Rogers and Gabbi Boyd.

The loss gives the girls team an 0-3 region record and 7-3 overall.

Both Indian teams return to action this afternoon as they face Commerce.

Today’s game had originally been scheduled to play on Monday; however, because of the rain, the match was rescheduled.

Prior to today’s matches, Stephens County High School will recognize its Senior Tennis players beginning at 3:30 p.m.

There are 8 seniors in the Indians tennis program, the largest group of seniors the SCHS tennis program has ever had, seven of the 8 players are 4-year letterman.
