SCHS Student arrested for bringing a Firearm to School
Monday morning, December 1, a student attempted to enter Stephens County High School with a firearm. The weapon was immediately detected by the security screening system, and school administrators, along with School Resource Officers (SROs), responded instantly to secure the weapon before any threat could materialize. The student was taken into custody without incident.
Stephens County Schools Superintendent Dr. Connie Franklin said safety protocols worked as they should to ensure the safety of students and staff.
Dr. Franklin encourages families to have conversations with their students about the importance of reporting concerns and ensuring that no prohibited items are brought onto campus.
