SCHS pitcher Emma Whitfield makes All-State First Team

The Georgia Athletic Coaches Association has released their 2018 All-State Softball Teams.

Stephens County pitcher Emma Whitfield made the first team.

Two other Region 8-AAAA teams are represented:  Oconee County’s Hannah Patridge and Morgan Tyler made first team and Chloe Middlebrooks made the second team.

Four Madison County players made second team:  Laney Bales, Ella Chancy, Laken Minish, and Emma Strickland.

In Class AAA, Franklin County’s Jayden Gailey was named the Player of the Year.  She is joined on the first team by Peyton Rivers.

Franklin County also had Jaden Cheek and Elle Varner make the second team.

In Class AA, Banks County had three players name to the first team:  Tybee Banks, Kya Santiago, and Jaycie Bowen.
