SCHS Lady Indians Tennis Team enters third round of state playoffs

The Stephens County High School Lady Indians tennis team is now in the third round of the State Playoffs.

They defeated Region 2 number one seed Crisp County Monday afternoon in the second round by a score of 3-1 with the first wins coming from number one singles Makiya Hutto, number one doubles team Tenley Boyd and Kaylin Snyder, and number two doubles team Abby Whitfield and Erin Terrell.

Erin Whitfield did not need to finish her match but was one game away from winning at number three singles before being taken off court.

The Lady Indians will play another number one seed next week, Westminster High School from Region 5 in the third round.

Westminster is the defending Class AAA State Champions.
