SCHS Lady Indians softball team falls to Hebron Christian, 5-4

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team’s effort to come back from down four runs in the fourth inning came up just short, as they fell 5-4 to Hebron Christian on Tuesday.

The Lady Indians scored four runs in the fourth inning on a single by Abby Whitfield, a double by Riley Walker in the fifth, and a double by Nyleigh Hutto in the seventh.

Walker took the loss on the mound for Stephens County, going eight innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out six.

The Lady Indians collected seven hits, led by Walker and Whitfield with two hits each.

Stephens County’s next game is scheduled for today (Thursday) as they travel to Monroe Area for a region contest with 1st pitch scheduled for 5:30.
