SCHS Lady Indians softball team defeats Hart County, 5-2

The Stephens County Lady Indians softball team took the lead late in the game in a 5-2 victory at Hart County on Tuesday.

With the game tied at two in the top of the 5thinning, Stephens County’s Tenley Boyd singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

The Lady Indians took an early lead in the 2nd inning when Fayeth Ivester drove in one run on a single.

In the bottom of the third inning, Hart County tied it up at two.

Riley Walker led Stephens County on the mound as the right hander went seven innings, allowing two runs on four hits and striking out two.

The Lady Indians racked up 13 hits in the game.

Kylee Glaze went 3 for 4 at the plate.

Nyleigh Hutto and Boyd each had 2 hits for the Lady Indians.

Stephens County improves to 7 & 10 overall and 1 & 2 in Region 8-AAA.

They will travel to Carnesville to take on Franklin County tonight in another region matchup—game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.
