SCHS Indians Basketball player will be playing at Brewton-Parker College

The top rebounder from the Stephens County Indians basketball team will be playing at Brewton-Parker College in Mt. Vernon, Georgia, next season.

Tyrece Mackie, son of Sheba Mackie, held a signing ceremony last Friday.

Tyrece scored over 850 points and shot 50% in his high school career for the Indians.

This past season, he was the second leading scorer on the team and contributed 145 assists and 87 steals.

He’ll be joining a new coach in his first year at Brewton-Parker, Leonard Epps, who leaves Toccoa Falls College as their men’s basketball coach.

He’ll also be joining former Stephens County Indian, Kenny Colwell, who is transferring to Brewton-Parker after one year at Toccoa Falls College.

Tyrece says a big reason he is going to Brewton-Parker is because of Coach Epps.

Tyrece plans to major in education and hopes to become a teacher and coach.
