SCHS Indian tennis team makes it to 3rd round of state playoffs

The Stephens County boy’s tennis team has joined the girls’ team in making the 3rd round of the State Playoffs.

The Indian boys won their 2nd round match at Upson-Lee Tuesday night, 3 to 0.

The first three off the court with wins were number one singles Griffin Wilkinson, number one doubles team Levi Spencer and Clayton Bishop, and number two doubles team Joc Brown and Walker Terrell.

Dawson Childs and Rusty Spencer were also on their way to winning their matches when they were pulled from the court.

It is the first time the Indians boys’ tennis team has advanced this far in the state playoffs.

As reported earlier, the Lady Indians defeated Crisp County Monday afternoon in the second round by a score of 3-1.

Both the boys’ and girls’ tennis teams will play at Westminster, Thursday at noon.

Westminster is the defending Class AAA Boys and Girls State Champions.
