SCHS honors senior players at annual Football Awards Ceremony

Stephens County High School held its annual Football Awards Ceremony at the Tugaloo Center last Sunday afternoon.

Each player on the varsity and J-V teams was recognized.

Members of the All-Region Team received plaques as did each of the senior players.

WNEG presented our Player of the Year Award to senior M.J. Jones, who was a starter at running back and linebacker.

William Hulsey and D. J. Jones won the Trigger Thomason “Strive & Drive” Award, and Hudson Spurlock and William Rudeseal won the Ultimate Warrior Award.

Stephens County Head Football Coach Wesley Tankersley said it was good to give special recognition to all of the senior players.

Stephens County placed 7 players on the Region 8-AAAA All Region Team.

Hudson Spurlock, M.J. Jones, and Gamarion Carter made first-team offense; Jahari Burns made first team defense; William Rudeseal was named to second team offense; and Kalik Sullivan and D. J. Jones was named to second team defense.
