SCHS Head Football Coach this week’s winner of Atlanta Falcons Coach of the Week
The Week 4 winner of the Atlanta Falcons Coach of the Week, presented by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, is Stephens County Head Football Coach Wesley Tankersley.
As part of the Coach of the Week program, the NFL and Atlanta Falcons will recognize head high school varsity football coaches across the states of Georgia and Alabama for their hard work and dedication to making a difference in student-athletes’ lives on and off the field.
His nomination credits Tankersley with devoting his time “to make and mold young men in our community, making sure that the young men have that opportunity to ‘win today.’ … Coach Tankersley is a great role model for all kids in our community.”
Each winner of the Coach of the Week program receives a $1,000 grant for their football program, a commemorative Atlanta Falcons item and recognition from the Falcons and Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
