SCHS Football Coach leaving

Wesley Tankersley is leaving Stephens County High School (SCHS) to be the head football coach at Fitzgerald High School. He came to SCHS in 2018 and during his 7 seasons as head football coach led the Indians to the playoffs in 5 seasons, including the quarterfinals this past season, which was the first time SCHS made the quarterfinals since 2005. At Stephens County, he had a record of 46 wins and 32 losses with back-to-back Region 8-AA titles in 2022 and 2023. Coach Tankersley made the announcement on his Facebook page.
