SCHS Cross-Country Team recruiting Runners and Fans 

Cross-Country running involves competitors racing over a long-distance course on natural terrain. The Stephens County High School (SCHS) team welcomes a new coach this year in Trey Jenkins, who is optimistic about the upcoming season. 

“I think there’s a lot of potential. We have some returners who did well last year that we’re hoping to improve upon. We guys that didn’t run a lot last year, but they have been working their tails off since last season that are in really good shape. And so, we’re just looking to continue to build and get better and compete.”

Seth Stonecypher, a junior, is ready for the upcoming season.

“I’m ready for it. I’m excited. I’d like to get more people out here. I’m just ready to get out there.”

Emmit Kellar, a sophomore, hopes to attract more teammates and fans.

“Just kind of hoping to get people out here and it’s really hard, but we’re trying. We’re going to do some great things this year.”
