SCHS Class of 2024 Senior Parade Set for Saturday, May 18

The 2024 Stephens County Senior Parade will take place this Saturday, May 18. The parade will begin at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 475 E. Tugalo Street, and will proceed down Big A Road toward the High School.

All participants must have completed a registration form by May 14 to be allowed to participate in the parade, and any participant under the age of 18 will be required to have a form signed by a parent or legal guardian.

All participants in the parade, other than official vehicles, must be a graduating member of the Stephens County High School Class of 2024. The name of the graduating senior will be displayed on both the driver and passenger side of the vehicle for spectators to congratulate the senior.

Throwing of candy, toys or any other object from vehicles will be strictly prohibited, and revving of engines or burning of tires is prohibited.

Parade lineup will begin at noon in the First Baptist Parking Lot, and participants must enter the parking lot from the Prather Bridge Road entrance. Line up will be first in, first out. Cars will exit the First Baptist parking lot onto Prather Bridge Road and turn left onto Big A Road. The parade route will follow Big A Road until the red light past the WalMart parking lot, at the intersection of Big A Road and the Highway 17 Bypass, where parade participants will disperse.

This is not sponsored by the school; but is a parent organized event.

As a community service project, the Senior Class will be donating to Food2Kids, a local nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and the Stephens County School System, providing food for students with food insecurity on weekends and during holidays. Although not required, each Senior Parade participant is encouraged to donate a minimum of one item off the needs list. Donations will also be accepted in the First Baptist parking lot from community members.
