SCHS Boys Tennis Advance to 2nd Round for First Time in 17 Years
The Stephens County High School boys’ tennis teams defeated Murray County Wednesday afternoon by a match score of 3-0.
Griffin Wilkinson won at #1 singles; Dawson Childs won at #2 singles; and the #1 doubles team of Levi Spencer & Clayton Bishop clinched the win.
It marks the first time for the Indians to advance to the sweet sixteen since 2005. The Indians will play at Upson-Lee in Thomason at 4 P.M. on Tuesday.
As reported earlier, The Stephens County High School girl’s tennis team defeated Sonoraville on Monday in the 1st round of the state tournament by a match score of 3-0 and have advanced to the sweet sixteen for just the third time in school history. The Lady Indians next opponent is Crisp County on the road on Monday at 1:30 P.M.
