SCHS Baseball loses 6-3 to Hebron Christian

The Stephens County High School (SCHS) Indians varsity baseball team lost the second game of the three-game series with the Hebron Christian Lions on Wednesday night, March 25, by a score of 6-3.

The two teams played it close for the first three innings. Hebron Christian scored a run in the first three innings while the Indians answered back with runs in the second, third, and fifth innings to tie the game at 3-3.

The Lions DH Dallas Rice led off the top of the sixth inning with a solo home run, and the Lions batted around, scoring another two runs in the inning to take the 6-3 lead. The Indians left the bases loaded in the sixth inning and a runner on in the seventh, but couldn’t score.

Noah Strickland, Caden Hogan, and Findley Ward had RBIs for the Indians.

Findley Ward pitched 5 ⅔ innings, giving up 5 runs on 9 hits without striking out or walking a batter to take the loss.

Sophomore Holden Meers went 5 ⅔ innings as well, giving up three runs, striking out three, and walking four for the win.

Hebron Christian runs their record to 18-1, while the Indians are now 10-7 and 3-2 in Region 8-AA.

Game three of the series is Friday, March 27, in Dacula. Game time is 5:55 p.m. with air time on WNEG at 5:45 p.m.
