School Covid-19 Report Shows Rise in Staff Positive

The latest Covid-19 report from the Stephens County School System shows a rise in positive cases for school staff. The report for the week ending November 20, 2020 is as follows:

9 staff members with a positive Covid-19 test.

3 staff members quarantined at home.

155 students quarantined at home.

4 students with a positive Covid-19 test.

3,929 students currently enrolled in-person and virtually.

536 current employees.

Again, the numbers represented in the Stephens County School System are current active cases and are not a running total.

The Georgia Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 1,413 positive cases of Covid-19 and still 46 deaths in Stephens County since the beginning of the global pandemic.

The latest report was released Friday afternoon.

The latest report has Habersham County with 77 deaths, one more than Wednesday’s report, and a total of 2,133 positive cases of the virus.

In other neighboring counties, Hart County is still reporting 20 deaths and now 680 cases, Franklin County is still  reporting 19 deaths and now 1,103 positive cases, Rabun County is still  reporting 11 deaths and now 527 cases, and Banks County is still reporting 11 deaths, and now 685 cases.

The Department of Public Health is now reporting a total of 399,410 cases around the state, of those, 33,897 have been hospitalized, and 8,591 have died from complications of the virus.
