SCH welcomes New Year’s Baby 2019

Stephens County Hospital welcomes its New Year’s Baby for 2019.

The hospital announced on Monday that this year’s proud parents of the New Year’s Baby are Christin and Jesse Henry, both of Toccoa.

The New Year’s Baby was also greeted by 3-year-old sister Ava Henry.

Mom, Christin, said her baby is a healthy 7-pounds and 15-ounces, 19 ¾” long, baby girl named Olivia Kate Henry.

“Olivia Kate is the second and last Henry baby. Her name was actually picked out by her sister. Ava picked out her name, we were talking about names one day and that’s what she said, and that’s what stuck. She’s honestly, just like her sister. She’s been a pretty easy baby so far.”

This year’s New Year’s Baby was born at 6:08 p.m. on Thursday, January 3.

Mom and Dad, told WNEG News about their experience at Stephens County Hospital’s Women’s Wellness Center.

“This is my second baby here, Ava was born here, and Angel (Angela Welborn, RN) was actually my baby nurse then. I also had Marie as a nurse at that point, she wasn’t my deliver nurse but she was one of my nurses. I had an excellent experience with both of them. I couldn’t have asked for a better nursing team at all,” Christin Henry said.

Jesse Henry told WNEG News about his experience at Stephens County Hospital.

“The whole thing, you just pace a lot, but it was good,” he said.

Mom, dad and baby were congratulated by hospital staff and members of the Hospital Auxiliary and were presented with a gift basket courtesy of the Stephens County Hospital Auxiliary. The Auxiliary also presented Ava with her own gift.

Christin Henry said she had a great experience at the hospital.

The maternal grandmother is Doris Brookshire, of Demorest.

The paternal grandparents are Georgia Travie and Diane Henry, both of Toccoa.

The mom’s nurse was Marie Gastley, RN and the baby’s nurse was Angela Welborn, RN.

The Attending Physician was Dr. Katie McKinney.
