SCH Love Light Campaign raises more than $47,000

The Love Light Tree was lit Thursday night at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa.

This year marks the 37th anniversary of the Love Light Campaign and Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Since its inaugural event, the Auxiliary has purchased over $688,000 in hospital equipment through the Love Light Campaign.

During the 2018 campaign, the Auxiliary was able to purchase $47,588.27 in equipment for the hospital.

This year’s Love Light Ceremony was in honor of Chief Executive Officer Roger Forgey for his hard work, dedication and overall belief in rural hospitals.

Forgey was unable to attend the ceremony, but, he had prepared a video in advance, thanking the Auxiliary for their countless volunteer hours and continued support of SCH.

Stephens County Hospital Foundation Director Pamela Jones told WNEG News that the auxiliary had raised $47,588.27.

Love Light Committee Chair Joyce Gregory presented the following gifts:

The Emergency Department received a Mobile Documentation Cart, two Vital Sign Spot Monitors with Non-Invasive Blood Pressure;

The Intensive Care Unit received an Intra-Osseous Driver and Needles;

Southern Rehab received an Intelect Legend XT 4 Electrotherapy and Ultrasound;

Stephens County Hospital Physician Group – Internal Medicine received a Mac 2000 ECG Machine;

WorkWell Occupational Medicine received Two Breath Alcohol Machines;

EMS received three Intubation Kits and a set of folding chairs for the classroom at Station I;

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation received a Smart TV, Tablet and Wireless Ear Muffs;

Maternal Services received three Infant Bassinets and Mattresses;

Clinical Nutrition and Diabetes Education received a Laptop Computer with Cart;

Human Resources received new flooring;

Environmental Services received E20BD Minuteman Disc Brush Automatic Scrubber;

Nutrition Services received a MM14QP-FC EZ Mop 360 Degree;

And, Engineering received EZGO 48-Volt Electric Golf Cart.

Following Gregory’s presentation, Stephens County Hospital Authority Chairman Mark Wilkinson alongside Jones, lit the Love Light Tree. The tree lighting was in honor of Forgey for his exceptional leadership and efforts to improve and preserve Stephens County Hospital.
