SCH has announced CEO Forgey will step down, Jan. 9

Change is underway at Stephens County Hospital, as Chief Executive Officer Roger Forgey prepares to vacate his position as CEO.

His last day serving as CEO will be on January 9; however, the hospital will still retain Forgey as its consultant.

He recently sat down with WNEG News to discuss the forthcoming change in leadership.

Forgey says that in his absence, he is confident the hospital will continue to be successful.

“I know my team will be fine without me. I didn’t turn the hospital around, they did,” he said.

According to Forgey, Dr. Stephen Pinkerton will serve as interim CEO until a new CEO is hired.

Pinkerton currently serves as the hospital chief of staff and sits on the hospital authority; however, he will be vacating his seat on the authority, until his interim duties are no longer needed.

Forgey says once a new CEO is hired, he plans to orient the new hire.

WNEG News will continue to provide coverage as additional information is released.
