SCBOE to consider approving Opioid Affected Youth Initiative Grant at next meeting

The Stephens County Board of Education met Thursday for its scheduled work session to discuss an Opioid Affected Youth Initiative Grant.

According to Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Oldham the Stephens County School System is partnering with Family Connections, Stephens County Juvenile Justice Department, Social Empowerment, and HOPE for a Drug Free Stephens to develop a local, data-driven coordinated response to identify and address challenges resulting from opioid abuse.

He says, the partnership will positively impact the youth at risk of opioid misuse.

The Board of Education will meet later today for its regular scheduled meeting to approve the grant initiative.

For questions regarding the grant contact the Stephens County School System Office by calling 706-886-9415.
