SCBC will meet in Grand Jury Room today for Regular Scheduled meeting

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet tonight for its regular scheduled meeting.

The meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Stephens County Grand Jury Room in the Stephens County Government Building. The meeting will begin with a land use public hearing for several rezoning and variance requests.

The first rezoning and variance requests are from Gopal R. Pal, for the property located at 33 Hands of Love Drive, in Toccoa. The property is currently zoned as commercial community and the proposed action is to rezone to residential single for a family residence. The variance is to allow three homes on the property.

The second rezoning and variance requests are from Stan Roberts for the the property located on Track 2 Fernside Drive, the property is currently zoned as residential single with the proposed action to be taken is to rezone .23 acres to residential multi to build duplex apartments. The variance is to allow a lot size variance.

The third rezoning and variance requests again comes from Stan Roberts for the property located on Track 3 of Fernside Drive, the property is currently zoned as residential single with the proposed action to be taken is to rezone .19 acres to residential multi to build duplex apartments. The variance is to allow a lot size variance.

The fourth rezoning and variance requests again comes from Stan Roberts for the property located on Track 4 of Fernside Drive, the property is currently zoned as residential single with the proposed action to be taken is to rezone .23  acres to residential multi to build duplex apartments. The variance is to allow a lot size variance.

The next variance request is from Robert Chambless for the property located at 1188 Old Rothell Road, the property is zoned as residential single. The proposed action is a variance for use of mobile classroom as a storage building and a variance for a fifth storage building on the property.

The final variance request is from David Hornsby, for the property located at 111 Seven Forks Road. The property is currently zoned as Agriculture Residential. The proposed action is to issue a variance to place metal building in front of planned home.

Up for consideration under new business are motions to grant an easement for Connector Road off of Stephens County Road 151 from U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to Stephens County Board of Commissioners; to authorize a pay increase for Stephens County Bailiffs; to authorize County Administrator to sign all necessary grant documentation associated with the ARPA Grant and Agreement with TruVista; to approve Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Amendments; and to approve Fiscal Year 2023 Budget Amendments.

Again, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 5:30 in the Grand Jury Room in the Government Building.
