SCBC to consider audit engagement with Mauldin and Jenkins

Stephens County will consider an audit engagement with auditing firm Mauldin and Jenkins for Fiscal Year 2019.

On Tuesday, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet for its regular scheduled meeting to consider a motion to sign a letter of audit engagement.

Each year, the county enlists the expertise of an Auditing Firm to come in and audit the county financial statements to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, generally accepted government auditing standards, and federal and state regulations.

In other business, the board will consider a motion to award Ed Murdock Superstores for the bid to purchase a truck for Stephens County Emergency Management in the amount of $29,780.

The board is scheduled to meet at 8:30 a.m. inside the Historic County Courthouse on Tuesday, August 13.

As always, the public is encouraged to attend.
