SCBC to consider 3rd Republican nomination to serve on Board of Elections
The Stephens County Republican Party will submit yet another nominee to serve as the Republican representative on the Stephens County Board of Elections.
This will be the third nomination presented to the Stephens County Board of Commissioners.
The first nominee was Bill Grant; however, County Commissioners voted against this nomination, citing Grant had told several board members he was no longer interested in filling the seat.
The second nomination was Bob Adams. But, because the initial vote failed due to a lack of a majority, his nomination was rejected.
The Stephens County Republican Party was then advised they would have to submit a third nomination.
The Republican seat on the Board of Elections has remained vacant since July 1, 2019.
The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet today to consider accepting the new nomination.
The regular scheduled meeting and work session will begin at 5:30 p.m. inside the Historic County Courthouse.
As always, the Board of Commissioners’ meetings are open to the public.
