SCBC set date for Fall 2021 Amnesty Day event

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners have set the date for the Fall 2021 Amnesty Day event.

On Tuesday, the Commission voted and approved November 6, 2021, as Amnesty Day in Stephens County.

In case of rain, the Commission set a rain date for November 20, 2021.

The annual event gives Stephens County residents a way to dispose of any junk that may be cluttering the streets, yards, and homes in the county.

Like other amnesty day events, the November 6th Stephens County Amnesty Day is only for residents of Stephens County.

Officials will be onsite, checking vehicle tags at the entrance of the Stephens County Road Department.

If you have an out-of-town tag, to prove your residency please bring a piece of mail, such as a utility bill, and your driver’s license or ID with your Stephens County address.

Commissioner Dean Scarborough made a motion approving the date for Amnesty Day with Vice Chair James Addison seconding the motion.

The motion was approved 4-0 with Commissioner Dennis Bell being absent.
