SCBC approve motion deeming items and two properties as surplus

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners deemed several items as surplus during its meeting last week.

Two of the surplus items were properties located at 69 Bel Aire Drive and 85 Biscayne Drive.

According to County Administrator Phyllis Ayers the two properties will be deemed surplus and authorized for sale as per sealed bid.

Ayers says that by selling the properties through a sealed bid process, the county is requesting a $500 minimum bid.

Commissioner Dennis Bell made a motion to deem the properties at 69 Bel Aire Drive and 85 Biscayne Drive as surplus with Commissioner Dean Scarborough seconding the motion.

The motion was approved unanimously.

Then, Ayers presented to the board six vehicles to be deemed surplus items as unserviceable equipment to be sold on Gov Deals.

Scarborough made a motion approving the six vehicles be deemed surplus with Bell seconding the motion.
