SCBC adopts FY22 Budget

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners held the second reading and public hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 budget during its meeting on Tuesday.

The first public hearing and reading was held during the Commission’s regular scheduled meeting on June 8.

Stephens County Administrator Phyllis Ayers provided the board with a summary of the Fiscal Year 2022 budget.

She says the budget does not include a millage rate increase for Stephens County residents.

During the second public hearing no citizen came forward to speak in favor of or in opposition to the proposed budget.

Following the public hearing, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2022.

Commissioner Dean Scarborough made a motion adopting the budget with Vice Chair James Addison seconding the motion.

The motion was approved 4-0.

Fiscal Year 2022 will begin on July 1, 2021
