Salvation Army of Toccoa extends Angel Tree program sign up to November 22

There’s still time to ensure your child receives gifts this Christmas through the Angel Tree program.

That’s according to Social Worker Brenda Gragg with the Salvation Army of Toccoa.

She says anyone still needing to sign up can come by the Salvation Army of Toccoa, located at 306 E. Franklin Street, between now and November 22.

The Angel Tree Program is designed to provide Christmas presents to the children in the community that normally would not receive gifts during the holiday because of a financial hardship.

Gragg says that the program is an opportunity for the community to come together to ensure that every child in Stephens County receives a gift on Christmas Day.

Last year, over 500 children received gifts through the Angel Tree program; which, Gragg says without the generosity of the community this wouldn’t have been possible.

Gragg is asking the community to come together again, to see that every child gets a gift on Christmas Day.

Additionally, the Salvation Army of Toccoa is in need of volunteer bell ringers.

Gragg says this is an opportunity for churches or local organizations to come together for a fun competition.
