Royston Police Officer credited with Saving Woman from House Fire
A Royston Police Officer is being hailed as a hero for saving a woman’s life, who was trapped inside a burning house. Early Wednesday morning, at about 2:30 a.m., a fire broke out at a home on Grove Street in Royston, says Royston Police Chief Brooks Moorhead.
Chief Moorhead is recommending Patrolman Eddy for the Royston Police Department’s ‘Life Saving with Valor’ award, which is bestowed on officers or civilian employees who, with total disregard for their personal safety, saved or attempted to save the life of another.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the causes of the fire.
